Update!

So far my return to running has been largely unsuccessful.  This fall I started a job working nights which really screws up your schedule!  I just never got enough sleep and couldn't find a good time to run.  However, I just got a new job and start working days again on Monday!  Hopefully I'll be able to get into a proper routine again.

I've got lots of knitting projects on the go.  Knitters out there, what is on your needles this holiday season?  I've got so many items to make for friends and family I've had to put my etsy store on hold.  Once I get caught up I hope to start really working on improving my store and hopefully sell something! ;)  Right now I'm working on a scarf as a gift and an afghan for my new house.

Finally on the bunny front, 3 of my foster bunnies have been adopted.  The 4th I'm hoping to adopt then I'm going to take a break from fostering.  I feel bad doing so, but getting the bunnies to the vet the rescue uses is just too difficult for me after moving so far away.  Also, I think 10 rabbits was just too many with all the other things I have going on.

The first bunny is Sammy, going to her new home tomorrow.  Next is Opal the one I hope to keep and the last picture is of Flynn (brown) and Fenella (white) who went to their new home a few weeks ago and are very happy!

Back into running!

I set myself the goal of running a marathon before I was 30 several years ago.  Since I am turning 29 this year I figured I'd better get cracking!!  I'm not sure it will be possible but I'm going to try anyway.  I used to run a fair bit, but due to the problems with my asthma last year and a bout of bronchitis in Feb. I am starting from square one.  I'm going to chronicle my progress on here hopefully as motivation to keep with it!

Wish me luck!

New Camera and Coming soon!

It has taken me a little bit to get used to the new camera and I apologize for the slow post. Here are two scarves I will be adding to my shop soon. The pink one is made from what I think is the softest, plushiest yarn I have ever found. I had to buy more yarn to make myself one. I may just make a small throw out of it too because I would just love to curl up in it! I just love the shades of blue in the top scarf. I'm really a big fan of multi-coloured yarns, I like how random patterns form when I knit with them.

I plan to take some pictures of my works in progress soon, plus pictures of more items that will be coming soon!

Been awhile!

So I've been neglecting this blog, for some reason I have trouble writing about myself. I have no problem sharing stories through the eyes of one of my bunnies on my other blog. Does anyone else have this problem? I guess I just need a little more confidence in myself that what I have to say is at least readable :)

Exciting news though, I have finally started updating my Etsy shop again, it was also neglected. I have just been so busy with school stuff lately I just didn't have the chance. The new item I posted this week was a cute pet sweater, but expect to see more scarves, bookmarks and fingerless gloves coming soon!

I'll post some pictures of works in progress over the weekend. I hope everyone has a good Father's day on Sunday!

Crochet and Mother's day

I think I have decided on trying to grow some forget-me-nots from seed in my container.  I guess I'll have to wait and see how that goes.  I'd better buy the seeds soon!

I also decided to teach myself how to crochet.  I saw a cute crochet bookmark my friend's mom had made her and I thought it would be cute to make bunny bookmarks.  So on Wednesday I started playing around and trying to learn the stitches, last night I came up with this basic bunny bookmark.

I think it turned out pretty cute.  I will probably make a few out of some nice cotton yarn to put in my Etsy shop.  I ordered some brown, brown and white mix and pink.  I think I will prefer more muted colours to this bright one.  Crochet is pretty fun, I think I will stick with it for now and see what else I can come up with! :)

I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's day tomorrow :)  I'm going to visit my parents tonight and then tomorrow we are getting together for brunch with my grandmother, my aunt and her family.  I haven't seen them in a little while so it will be nice.  It will also be nice to get out of the apartment for a night, since I've been so sick the past few weeks I haven't been anywhere but home and work.

Finally feeling a little better!

I think I may finally be recovering *knocks on wood*.   After an ER visit for a severe asthma attack brought on by my cough/cold, I've had enough!  Hopefully, I stay well long enough to get caught up in the lab and on my knitting.  My poor etsy store has been neglected.  Once I have some stock built up I will start adding new items regularly.

One of my other hobbies is gardening, although since I live in an apartment most of the flowers are growing inside.  I really love orchids and have had them for years.  These are some pictures of some new ones my mom bought me when I lost my little Gracie.  Unfortunately, I haven't had much luck getting them to flower again for me, but I keep trying.

I also have a small planter on my balcony, I'm debating what to put in it this year.  I had some annuals in it last year, coleus and allysum plus a few others.  I'm considering growing some herbs for the bunnies, but I don't think I could grow enough for it to be worthwhile.  Has anyone grown perrenials in a container in Southern Ontario or somewhere with a similar climate?  Leave a comment if you have any ideas for my container :) Thanks!

Sick :(

It has been a lousy week.  I've had a terrible sore throat and cold since Tuesday.  I think I may finally be starting to feel a little better this afternoon *knocks on wood*.  I get sick far too often, it is really annoying.  If anyone has tips for boosting an immune system please post in the comments!  I'm getting desperate.

But the nice thing about this week is my new foster bunny.  His pic is posted on Peanuts blog if you haven't already seen it.  He already has someone interested in adopting him!  He is such a sweetheart I'm not surprised.  I have to admit I wouldn't have minded keeping him around a little longer ;)  Although maybe getting adopted right away is a good thing, so this way I'll actually be able to give him up.

I'm hoping to get caught up on knitting this weekend.  So hopefully I'll be adding a bunch of new items to my Etsy store next week.  Unfortunately, this being sick has slowed me down.
